Long Island Sewer Line Services

Residential and Commercial Sewer Repair You Can Count On

Sewer line problems rarely announce themselves clearly. You notice a slow drain, an odor in the yard, or a backup that's happening more often than it used to. By the time the cause is obvious, the damage has usually been building for a while. Getting to the actual problem — and fixing it the right way the first time — is what Allied All-City is built to do. We serve both residential homeowners and commercial property owners throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. Our process starts with a camera inspection to see exactly what's happening inside the line — root intrusion, pipe deterioration, offset joints, collapsed sections, or buildup that's blocking flow. Once we know what we're dealing with, we recommend the repair method that makes the most sense for the situation. We are certified for both counties and carry the equipment for conventional excavation and trenchless repair, so we're not limited to one approach.

Sewer Camera Inspection Long Island

When Repair Isn't Enough, We Handle Full Replacement

The single biggest mistake in sewer repair is skipping the diagnosis. When a contractor recommends a repair — or worse, a full replacement — without first running a camera through the line, you're paying for their assumption, not an informed recommendation. Allied All-City doesn't work that way. Our camera inspection puts a high-resolution camera head into the sewer line and transmits live footage as it moves through. We can see root intrusion growing through joints, sections of pipe that have settled out of alignment, cracks from ground movement or age, and blockages from grease or debris. We can identify exactly where the problem is and how extensive it is. That information determines the repair method. Sometimes the issue is a localized section that can be addressed without disturbing the rest of the line. Sometimes the line has deteriorated enough that replacement is the right answer. The camera shows us which is which — and it shows you too.

When Repair Isn't Enough, We Handle Full Replacement

Older Long Island homes — and there are a lot of them — often have sewer laterals made from clay tile or Orangeburg pipe. Both materials have limited service lives, and by the time most homeowners are dealing with chronic sewer problems, those pipes have deteriorated beyond the point where spot repairs make economic sense. When full replacement is needed, Allied All-City can approach it one of two ways. If the pipe's structural condition and the site layout allow for it, we use trenchless pipe bursting or lining to replace the line without digging a trench. If conventional excavation is the better approach, we handle that too — pulling permits, excavating carefully, installing the new line to current code, and restoring the surface. Either way, the result is a new sewer lateral that will serve the property reliably for decades. We handle the permitting, the inspection, and the documentation so you have a clear record of the completed work.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The only reliable way to know is to run a camera through the line. The camera footage shows whether the damage is localized — a cracked joint, a root intrusion point, a single offset section — or whether the pipe has deteriorated along most of its length. Localized damage can often be addressed with a targeted repair or short-section liner. Widespread deterioration, particularly in older clay or Orangeburg pipe, usually makes full replacement the more cost-effective long-term answer. We walk every customer through what the camera shows and explain why we're recommending what we're recommending.

Root intrusion is one of the most frequent issues — tree roots follow moisture and can penetrate pipe joints, eventually causing significant blockage or structural damage. Ground movement and soil settling over time can cause pipe joints to offset, creating belly sections where waste accumulates. And many Long Island homes still have original clay tile or Orangeburg sewer laterals from the mid-20th century — materials that simply weren't built to last indefinitely. Grease buildup is another common culprit in both residential and commercial lines. A camera inspection tells us which of these is at play.

Both. Allied All-City serves residential homeowners and commercial property owners throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. Commercial sewer work sometimes involves larger-diameter lines, grease interceptor connections, or more complex layouts than a typical residential lateral, but we have the equipment and experience to handle it. If you manage a commercial building, restaurant, multi-family property, or industrial facility with a sewer issue, we can assess it and provide the appropriate solution.

Trenchless methods — specifically pipe lining and pipe bursting — work well in many situations, but not every sewer line is a candidate. Pipe lining requires that the existing pipe still has enough structural integrity to support the liner installation and that the pipe diameter meets minimum requirements. Pipe bursting requires that the soil and pipe layout accommodate the bursting head's path. Some pipe configurations, particularly those with multiple bends or severely collapsed sections, may require conventional excavation in certain segments. The camera inspection tells us what's feasible. We'll always recommend the least disruptive method that will actually work for the specific conditions.

A straightforward trenchless liner installation on a typical residential lateral might be completed in a single day. Pipe bursting jobs typically take one to two days depending on the run length and site access. Conventional excavation and replacement of a sewer lateral is generally a one-to-two-day job for the pipe work itself, with surface restoration sometimes requiring additional time. We give every customer a realistic schedule estimate before the work begins. We also handle permit applications, which can add lead time but are required for most sewer replacement work in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Call us. Allied All-City maintains 24/7 emergency availability — a real dispatcher, not an answering machine. For an active sewer backup, we'll dispatch a technician as quickly as possible and get someone to your property to assess the situation. In many emergency cases, we can at minimum clear the backup the same visit so you can use your plumbing again, and then schedule the more comprehensive diagnostic work or repair during regular hours. We won't leave you without a functioning drain for days. Sewer backups are a health concern and we treat them as the urgent problem they are.
